How can code metrics help developers refactor a big codebase? How to show the progress in the refactoring and code migrations? How to prioritize which refactoring action will have the most impact?
This talk will show how we have used code metrics to drive the modularisation of the Fashion Store application at Zalando, looking into how to define meaningful metrics according to your goals, choose areas of the biggest impact, and demonstrate how the results of the team’s work can be made visible to non-developers.
It will also give a few practical examples of how such metrics could be collected and presented.
