Reworking a Core Feature: Migrating from XML to Compose Maps

The core use case of the Tractive app is GPS tracking for pets — making the map the most critical part of the experience. But beyond simply showing a location, we draw live paths, show geofences, potential dangers and more. Moving this from our old MVP (RxJava) XML architecture to our new Redux-style approach with Compose came with its challenges. In this talk, I’ll walk you through why we made the switch, how we approached it, what we learned along the way, and what we ultimately gained from the rework.
